Illinois Valley Economic Development Corp. (IVEDC) is looking to hire a full-time Senior Nutrition Manager. The Senior Nutrition Manager is responsible for the daily activities and operations of the agency’s Senior Nutrition Program. This position will be based out of our Jerseyville Senior Nutrition Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and monitor program activities in accord with agency, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
  • Prepare grants, program documents, budgets, reports, etc. as needed.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff. Provide on-going staff training as required.
  • Conduct on-going tracking of units, in-kind, trainings, etc.
  • Work on development of menus for approval.
  • Oversee collection and documentation of participant donations/fees from program sites.
  • Recommend opportunities for program improvement and new funding sources.
  • Review and update policies and procedures as needed.
  • Assist in day-to-day programmatic duties when needed.
  • Attend trainings as needed in order to maintain all credentialing of the position.

Requirements:

  • Prefer a Bachelor Degree in Social Work or related field and 1-2 years of Food Management experience.
  • Management and supervisory background is required.
  • Working knowledge of senior nutrition programs.
  • Knowledge of food handling standards.
  • Willingness to obtain a Food Service Sanitation Certificate.
  • Excellent computer and communication skills required.

Responsibilities:

  • Will focus directly on the smooth day-to-day operation of the site.

  • Assists with recruiting and enrollment.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide safe and courteous transportation to passengers utilizing program vehicles. Assist passengers on and off the van as needed within reason. (Drivers will not lift passengers in/out of wheelchairs. Do not endanger the safety of the passenger or yourself during assistance. The transportation program operates a door-to-door service; do not enter the homes of passengers.)
  • Keep proper documentation of such service and maintenance.
  • Keep vehicle interior and exterior clean and neat at all times.
  • Will accurately input required data on the tablet/software. Will follow the tablet/software as instructed and will notify dispatch of any problems or discrepancies.
  • Will accurately collect all fares and turn in at the end of each work day to the designated staff member and fill out a money collection form.

Qualifications:

  • Maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license and sufficient insurance coverage. Must be capable of operating the vehicle in a safe manner at all times. Must have “clean” driving record for minimum of 3 years.
  • Drivers must be at least 21 years of age and a High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Drivers must pass the Federal Transit Administration Drug & Alcohol testing administered by Mid-West Truckers Association through our agency.
  • Drivers must meet current licensing and certification requirements.

  • Apply caulking and/or weather-stripping to doors and/or windows whenever needed to lessen energy loss in accordance with work orders.
  • Perform minor roof, foundation, or other repairs in accordance with work orders.
  • Complete required paperwork in an accurate, legible, and timely manner.
  • Communicate with supervisor on status of assigned homes, concerns, etc.
  • Interact with clients in a positive and professional manner.
  • Will attend all trainings required of the position, including those for certifications, paid for by agency.
  • Will travel to locations throughout the agency’s service area in an agency vehicle.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
